Whilst we make a big thing of our Christmas specials - the trees, turkeys, sausages and veg boxes - our shop will always be predominently about one thing - a local, friendly food shopping experience where you can find the freshest and tastiest produce from local and UK-wide farms alongside exotic imports from around the globe and... especially at Christmas, amazing artisan treats you wont find on supermarket shelves.
Christmas for us actually starts in summer when we have to choose all the best speciality goods and order them in ready for the run up to the big day. You'll start to see Christmas lines a the end of October so you can get your hands on the best goodies before they sell out!
When it comes to fresh produce, we're working with farmers and markets all-year-round building relationships that last. That 'feeds' into Christmas because it means we know we and our customers will be well looked after at Christmas even if there are shortages or price rises elsewhere. The shop is quite a sight during Chrtistmas week with even taller displays than normal to make sure you can get to what you want!
You'll find a wide selection of potatoes including Maris Piper, King Edward and Cyprus; all the root veg classics like carrots and parsnips and of course the all important sprout stick from just over Billinge Hill at Rainford!
Beyond that we've got everything we usually stock but in much bigger quantities! Cream, cheese, eggs, ice cream and packed store cupboard shelves full of useful ingredients for whatever you're planning.
