Lancashire is home to world-leading fresh vegetables and seasonal fruits, cultivated by generational farmers who share our passion for the highest standards. We prioritize sourcing local farm produce whenever possible, often collecting directly from farm yards using our own transport.
Everything on our van travels no more than half an hour to reach us. This ensures that we receive fresh Lancashire produce, know who grew it, and by eliminating agents and hauliers, we can remain competitive on price while supporting sustainable farming practices.
This part of the world is particularly renowned for its fresh vegetables and salads. At the peak of the English summer season, we bring in local farm produce such as salad leaves, lettuces, onions, tomatoes, beans, peas, radishes, new potatoes, broccoli, and cauliflowers straight from the field multiple times a week.
Moreover, we source sustainable farming practices to provide carrots, cabbages, main crop potatoes, and leeks locally for most of the year. Additionally, we offer seasonal fruits and favorites that come and go, like kale and sprouts.
Because we're a small business, we don't establish contracts with our farmers. They are our colleagues and friends, and we pay whatever the market price is on the day for fresh vegetables and local farm produce. This is why you may sometimes find the same produce cheaper in supermarkets.
While some seasonal fruits and vegetables have stable prices throughout the season, others do not. The price you pay reflects the quality of service and the commitment to sustainable farming that we uphold—from our farmers to you, sometimes adding just a few pence at the till.
